What is the programme?

We have designed a long term athlete development programme to maximise strength, power, speed and all other physical qualities to:

- Maximise physical potential and improve sport performance
- Bulletproof the body from injury
- Maximise mental performance

The programme runs for 50 out of 52 weeks of the year to ensure continued, long term physical development

Who is the programme for?

Our programme has been developed for committed and determined young athletes aged 10-18 from across Manchester, Cheshire and Lancashire from any sport, background and performing at any level. We are looking for athletes who have a burning desire to maximse their physical potential and become the best version of themselves.

A young, growing athlete can face many challenges with co-ordination, mobility, strength and speed. This can often be perceived in sport as lack of fitness, poor performance or decreased technical ability, often resulting in self confidence being knocked or rash decisions being made about their future potential.

Injury risk during growth spurts can also rise dramatically. Without monitoring and developing the young athlete appropriately through strength and conditioning, the onset of overuse injuries is a huge problem.

It is for these reasons that we regularly test and monitor physical performance, growth rates and maturation status to stay informed about every aspect of the individual.

With sport around Manchester flourishing, we see our service as essential. Youth athletes have the opportunity to come and train with likeminded others under the watchful eye of experienced and qualified coaches. They will learn to move efficiently, develop strength appropriately and understand how to eat well and use recovery methods to enhance everything that sport and life throws at them, especially during the crucial stages of maturation and the onset of adolescence when rapid physical changes occur.

What our programme involves:





Long Term Youth Athlete Pathway

Our long term athlete development curriculum has been built for 10-18 year olds from any sporting background. It is underpinned by excellent movement patterns, is tailored towards the individual and works at improving all sport specific physical qualities. Our coaches are responsible for creating healthy, robust youngsters and want nothing more but longevity for athletes in their chosen sports. The programme runs for 50 out of 52 weeks of the year to support true, long term physical development.





Performance Testing and Monitoring

Quarterly performance testing to monitor maturation status, growth rates and physical improvements are a key part of the programme. Physical qualities we test include strength, power, speed and mobility. This ensures your child is always improving appropriately and progressing as expected along our LTAD curriculum.





Highest Standard of Coaching

With years of experience and UKSCA (UK Strength and Conditioning Association - the governing body for athlete development) accreditation, your child is in the best possible hands for appropriate long term development. With an evidence-based approach, every aspect of youth athlete development is taken into consideration. Our progressive curriculum guides and educates your young athlete along a pathway to higher performance. Sessions take place with a maximum of coach to athlete ratio of 1:6 to ensure we maximise coaching opportunities.




High Performance Education

Regular education on all things performance. From nutrition education for health, performance and food preparation, to recovery strategies to maximise performance to support their sport and life. This education covers parents and athletes.





Athlete Development Hub

Our sessions take place at our very own, purpose designed, high performance gym at Riverside Business Park, Stockport, SK6 2BP. The facility has been designed specifically to maximise our coaching with youth athletes and has all the necessary equipment for an elite programme.





Goal Reviews

Every 12 weeks, we have individual review meetings with youth athletes and their parents. We discuss physical development and progress in sport, show progression with our physical development monitoring and challenge youth athletes to set SMART goals for their next training block.







Parent Community Group

Correspondence with parents is a key priority for us, and a private parent only Facebook group allows us to regularly interact, educate and engage. Useful topics and points of interest as well as day to day logistics are continually passed on to allow complete transparency at all times.
